Anza-Borrego Desert, in Southern California, is known for having the most colorful Spring bloom of any desert on Earth. This past April (2009), during a three-day men’s vision quest which I led in the most remote part of this vast wilderness, I took camera in hand to capture the surreal beauty which spontaneously rises out of this scorched earth for a few short weeks each year. No matter how many times I venture into this desert, I am at once in awe of God’s omnipresent magic and power, giving rise to such radiant colors out of mere rock, sand, and dust.
